Newbe here, Just Bought a 95 Explorer 4x4 w/ 144,000 miles on the clock. Funny story here when I test drove the truck the front left tire was almost flat the a/c didn't work the exhaust was broken in front of the muffler, and the truck overheated, and the windshield was broken. It was by far the worst test drive i've ever been a part of & exhaust was so loud I think i'm still suffering hearing loss. I offered the guy $800. he turned me down. He said he needed $2000.00 & was moving to Chicago in 8 days. I waited 3 days & called & offered $900.00, he took it. Apparently he rode the city bus to college the last 4 years and only put 15000 miles on it since 2003. Since bringing it home the tire has not lost any air since filling. Took the Truck across the street from work to the muffler shop. They welded a new piece of pipe in for $30.00. The reason it overheated on the test drive was it had a leak in the heater control valve, replaced that for $20.00 and refilled w/antifreeze. Next I bought two cans of 134a, the compressor came right on and it blows 40 degrees. Had a new whidshield put in for $199.00.
With the help of this great site I changed the fluid in both axles, and next I will jump on the back door handles(child proof problem). Thanks for this
