Hi Folks
I'm new to your site. I found you by searching for some solutions to a problem I have with my explorer. I belong to another forum because of another Ford product I own and have found sites like this very helpful.
I have a 1996 Explorer XLT V8 with 245,000 miles. I am the original owner, it is my daily driver and is very dependable. It wouldn't surprise me if it went another 13 years. It has been garage kept since new and has been very good to me, I love it.
I searched the subject I'm trying to get a solution on but figured I would post it as well.
All the miles on my Explorer have taken a toll on my cruise control switch covers. Fatigue cracks in the black paint causes light to bleed through the switch at night.
What are my options?
I would like to replace the covers, are there any available?
Are there suppliers that carry them? I would like OEM but I usually end up grabbing my chest when I get a price check from my local dealer.
Any tricks?
Thanks
Lonnie
