Hi All,

Just want to say Hello, some great info on this site.

I'm new to the Explorers, collecting my first one tomorrow.

Anything to look out for?

Cheers

Ian

Welcome! Listen out for any rattly noises when idling and driving. The timing chains on the SOHC engines are known to go out.

Hi,
Thank you, the car I'm buying is actually a forum members car jamesc777

He's had the front and rear tensioner done.
Only issue is the ABS light is on, but after searching the forum i see it could be anything from a bad wire to a failed control unit. So prepared to spend on getting that sorted.

Thanks Again

Ian

Ah yes... Both of my Explorers have different ABS issues. I've been putting off doing anything about it for some time now :D

Welcome, Ian! :wavey:

How do you get around the MOT? just because i may need to in about 8 months! As i will also be putting off getting it sorted! :D

Ian

For the MOT the light must come on with ignition and go off when engine started. I would suggest that you find out what the problem is and fix it.

Howdy guys, hope your all well, i have told Ian alot about how great you all are especially u Howard!!! Look after him guys and make sure he looks after Hector.
I will keep popping in to check up on you all and might make to ford fair we will see.
