Hey all, im a new member, also new to the explorer lifestyle. I have a 96 explorer sport 2door 4x4 4.0L. I would like to know where i can find a good but inexpensive lift kit for this vehicle. I dont know much about the explorers but i believe this site should help me out a little bit! thank you!!

There is some good info in this thread to get you started:

If you really plan to use your Explorer offroad a solid axle swap conversion is the way to go, but you either have to be a welder yourself, or know someone who is to install one.

This thread outlines a good solid axle build:

Use the Google search box near the top of the pages to search for "First gen lift kits" or "SAS" or "solid axle swap".

Thank you!I dont plan on slapping a solid axle in it. I just wanna lift it about 2-3 inches. I wanna do some wheeling, but not some serious mudding or climbing. Just enough clearance for 31s on my 2nd gen.
