Hello Rick. Thanks for your email. Buying a second hand Ford Exploerer here in the Philippines was among friends considered to be a stupid decision. We tried the usual seen SUV‘s here. The Toyota Fortuner (marketleader) was boring and didn’t absorb the bad roads. The Nissans, Mitsus, Izuzus etc performed on the same bumpy level. Then pooped our Eddy up and a quick test drive made us sure. The previous owner had upgraded the truck with 22 inches rims, sun protection on all windows, black aftermarket light and led’s. Its very nice and has a natural build in safety feature compared to the regulars SUV’s - tricyckles (a lot here) and scooter/small motorbikes keep a proper distance and give space. We have it with the V6 engine and with all seats occupied and luggage the power is sufficient. We also appreciate the aircon in this very hot season we have right now. The truck has a couple of issues which I hope we can solve with help here in this dedicted Explorer forum - random actie service light (I battery reset it - the car drives flawless), Check headlamp and 2 defect power seats (passenger side and right 3rd row - not the fuses. Thanks for the membership. Have a nice day. Mik/Maricel, Santander, Cebu province, Philippines

Rough roads will kill those 22s. It’d also ride light years better on a smaller rim. Tires are also going to be expensive. I’d ditch them for something more reasonable.

Thanks for the tip. I know that low profile / wider tires is less comfortable and consumer more fuel. What did you buy instead? Or do you have a tip.

I’d run 18s if they’d fit.
