I figured I've lurked around on here long enough I just might as well make an account. I've stumbled across this site more times than I can count when it came to making repairs on my Mountaineer. I actually bought it back in May and have loved it since. It's a 2003 AWD V8 with 136k miles on it and it still seems to run great, so hopefully it will be fairly trouble-free. I also own a 2015 Ford Fusion, and I will say that some days I have more fun in the Mountaineer. There's just something about a V8 that my cars I4 just can't come close to. Anyway, here's a picture of my ride:

I'm working on a couple projects with it right now, that's why it's in the garage. I'm waiting on some gloss black vinyl wrap to refinish the black plastic trim that faded out. I looked into painting it, but I'm not great with painting and can't afford to pay someone to do it for me. The big project, however, is my stereo upgrade. I put in a Pioneer head unit, but that wasn't enough. Now I'm working on a tablet installation:

If you can't tell, I'm a fan of affordable DIY upgrades, so If anyone can suggest cheap/easy upgrades, I'm open to suggestions. It has remote start already. I managed to get a free 2-way system from my sister (who has an '06 Focus) so it was already programmed and had the right parts for a Ford vehicle. Remote start + auto climate controls = awesome! I know having a mountaineer means I already have a lot of options, but there's always room for improvements.

Welcome, nice looking ride.
