Gentlemen,

My old OEM radio had dead display, so I've purchased a new unit.
Installed it, now the display is fine, but there's no back light on controls...
It's possible to "program this" by myself, or do I have to go to Ford and if yes,
how much would cost?
I've red on Google, that you can use the old radio, upload settings to some ROM
and then download it to the new radio?

Any hint will be greatly appreciated!!!

Your symptoms are what to expect if the radio is not programmed for your particular model and options. Programming the radio is not something dealers can do, as a rule, and they send the units out to a specialty shop for that. Find out who your dealer uses or look around (Chicago Sound has done that work and ships back and forth) and get your radio programmed for your model. Cost is $75-$125, I think.

Thank you Vic!!!

Thank you Vic!!!

Yup, I know it's expected, but I was hopping it will work magically :)

I live in Vancouver, Canada, anybody knows a company which can program OEM Ford radio?

Don't want to go to Ford, because when I've inquired about OEM replacement for my Ford Explorer 2006 radio, our local Ford dealer quoted me for $700.00... I've go a new unit for $140.00 from replacement radios corp. Go figure...

Thanks for the replies!
