Hello everyone! I'm a new owner of a 1998 Explorer Sport 4x4. I won it on ebay a few days ago. I got it for $10,900 which I thought was a fair deal since comparable explorers are selling for $15,000+ at dealers in my area. This is my second Explorer I have owned. My first one was a black 97 4x4 sport. I got rid of it to buy a 98 expedition XLT. Now I'm back to an explorer again. Here's a link to the auction. Do you think this is a fair price? Dead Link Removed I already ordered a set of Smittybilt sure-step nerf bars for it since it didn't come with them for factory like my first explorer. I got them brand new for $126 shipped. Your in Maryland correct and its in minnesota? You gonna have it shipped to ya? Or drive out there and pick it up? Its a pretty good deal.

Yea, Explorer prices will vary greatly across the country. So, some members will say it is a good deal, others may not. In my area, a 98 with only 45K, would probably sell for around $13-15K. So yes, you got a good deal!

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me, of course, I'm in your area.

Congrats on the new Explorer! Whcih engine did you have before and which one does this one have? I assume this one has the SOHC and if you had the OHV before, you will definately appreciate the upgrade.
