Hey everyone,

I just purchased a 2010 Mountaineer Premier V8 with most all the options available. It's got 111,000 miles on it and the car fax shows it was maintained well. Is there anything I should be looking for that is an issue with these vehicles? Also, where is the best place to get an owner's manual for this?

Thanks.

Have the spark plugs been changed? Those seem to be a nightmare on those 4.6's in the 4th gen's.

I'm in the market for one and a dealer told me the V8s have exhaust bolts that snap. It is no fun to replace either. You get a ticking noise at startup. Dunno if the problem goes up to 10. But an 09 in the lot was ticking.

Plugs

I thought that the spark plug problem was fixed by 2010. Am I wrong?

This is true. After my time in the military I can't hear it, so it doesn't bother me.

The manifold bolts snap on all years. The sparkplugs were fixed in mid 08 model year. I believe the color of the coil boots will tell you what you have; black ones are the old type, brown boots are the new design.
