2018 explorer platinum
Hello everyone:

I have a 2018 Platinum (wanted the 3.5L but not a sport, I had a 2014 Sport) and truly am enjoying it. EXCEPT it leaks. had it for 4 months with no problem, then in the Spring Texas storms I had 2 gallons of water on the drivers floor. Joined the forum and searched for leak issues, confirmed it was not the sunroof. Those drains are clean and run fine.

Looked at the windshield ( it is a replacement) and it was leaking from the upper corner. Got that fixed. Next storm had maybe a cup of water. Found it was dripping from the side molding by the emergency brake. Found I could run water and the lower windsheild corner and it would drip inside. Went back to the glass guy and ran air tests, and it passed with flying colors. Glass guy thinks its a bad grommet, leaking air intake.

I'm at a loss. Anyone ever had an issue with a leak (small) that is not the sunroof or windshield?

Welcome back.
I don't recall reading any posts about the 2nd leak you mentioned. I believe the air intake is on the passenger side. I don't know if water is able to run to the driver's side from there. Maybe another water test is in order. Good luck.

Peter
