Very, Very nice job! I agree with James on the rear glass handle, but everything else looks great.

I like your taste! :D

Goodness that is one pretty X. :D That is probably the best looking X i have ever seen. Red looks fantastic- much more "alive" or something than the regular black or white. AWESOME JOB!!!!! :chug:

I guess because the expedition is bigger it shove you out of first place. If it didn't get first it would have been last. The guy bought that throphy.
You're the winner in our eyes man.
Did the shop pain the chrome grill red also?
I was bidding on one this weekend but I lost.

looks great TAS. how much did that awesome paint job cost you?

Thanks again everyone.:)

The paint job set me back $1600. The parts that I had done were the grille, front and rear bumpers, those side skirt things, splash guards, rear door handle molding, mirrors, and EE airdam. The guy did all the prep work and smoothed out all the plastic. Alot of the FordTruckWorld members recommended him. Check out his work in his gallery albums:http://www.fordtruckworld.com/mygallery.ten?select1=none&id=3091

$1600 is a great price. nice job! what is so special about the 1st place winner that we can't see from the picture. does it have an awesome interior or engine? from the outside you should've definitely taken 1st.

It's a nice truck, I liked it. Rick and Val(her truck) were a pretty nice couple. I think people just liked the big lifted truck more. Did I just say that? Damn you off-roaders! :D

I like the painted handle.. hell, I would've probably painted the hinges too... I think its cool b/c its different to people who know their Sploder's...

Man, that is one trick truck TAS... Maybe some day i'll have to get me a 2wd V8 Ex and lower it... (Thats right X~Factor, I said lower it) But i'm still keeping my (now scratched to ****) off roader!

U should spray the tails candy apple red!
Seems to be a new trend over at FXN, getting rid of the orange on the tails by doing this would look sweet!.. i dont know about the clear back up lights tho.. maybe leave that clear?
Wow im all about ideas and no compliments lol

Looks incredible....that is what I was expecting when I ordered my speed grill so now I may have to copy you too. It looks great. Congrats

Wow, the difference between the before and after is like night and day, NICE TRUCK!

Hey Tas lookin so awesome, i live in bakersfield, about 1 hour and a half drive from santa monica. i definitely want to get my X painted so its all one color. how much did the guy charge you for the front and rear bumpers??? 1600 is way outta my budget. so i guess i will have to get things painted one at a time. instead of finding someone here in bakersfield i could just go to santa monica drop my car off then go surfing. and since he already has experiece with an X i would just feel better about going to him anyway.

if you look up.. u can see that he said it was 1600. and about dropping the truck off and going surfing.. the process will take a few days minimum. it takes prepping, then priming, then painting.. and i dont know if youd have the energy to surf for a few days :p

explorerchic - I cleaned under there really good with a wire brush and hosed it down. Then I just used semi-gloss black spray paint.

cool, i'm gonna have to do this....wat all is safe to paint on the underside?

Beautiful Ted, just beautiful!

ILL, just plain ILL :D

sk8volcom14 , send the guy an e-mail and tell him I sent you. He is a very cool guy and will answer any questions you may have. You can also arrange to send him parts and he will ship them back when they are done.

And yes it will take a few days for him to work on it. I dropped off my truck at his house, helped him take all the parts off and took the 2 1/2 hr train ride back home. My X was done in less than 2 weeks.
