New Plugs missing???

hey guys i just installed some new autolite double platinum plugs and their missing like crazy. What could it be? I gaped the plugs to the same as the previous plugs because those too were autolite platinum. Whats going on??

make sure you have the plugs hooked up correctly. double check the spacing, were the old plugs double platinum? if not i'd throw out the ones you have and get the regular autolites.

they were gaped at about 53 on the gaper. It seems to not be missing as much now... just a little tick

...The plugs need to be gapped at .054...You might have them closed a little and now your computer is compensating for this..:scratch:

..There is also a thread on here plus info comes with your plugs, you can not play with the gap on platinum plugs..

yea thats wat the guy told me at autozone but then i couldnt figure out how the hell i would get them to run right so i gaped em.

You should have used the recommended copper tips

Platinum plugs fire at a lower voltage, which means a lower energy spark. Switch to the recommended copper tips with an .054 gap and see if it fixes your problem. Plus copper tip Motorcrafts only cost a $1.99 each so they are cheaper.

dammit i though ti read on here somewhere to use the double platinum. well they arent missing anymore which is good, but is it okay to run the double platinum or should i go get some copper tips?
