Good day everyone! I come here i need of opinions! I’m looking to purchase a Explorer 2016-2018
90k-125k miles. My big question is what kind of issues do these vehicles have at that mileage and age? The way the car market is these days, these are what are in my price range so i don’t want to buy something that will break the bank from a maintaining aspect.

Welcome to the Forum.
One of the biggest concerns is the internal water pump. It could develop a leak and allow coolant to drain into the engine. There is also a weep hole that allows the fluid to drain out but it isn't guaranteed that it will. Water pump failure leads to dead engine Also, check the leading edge of the hood for bubbles. Hood Paint bubble issue only If there are any, the 2018 would still be under the 5 year aluminum panel corrosion warranty. The PTU (Power Transfer Unit) is another item that should be looked at and have the fluid changed. It hold very little fluid and is subject to a lot of heat. Most members are changing the fluid around every 30k miles.
It would be an idea to just browse the threads here to see what members have posted. Good luck.

$25-28k seems a bit high price for over 100k miles for 5th gen even with the market inflation. I paid far less than that for mine a few years ago.

Some common issues:
-Waterpump
-AC leaks
-Paint quality
-Water leaks
-Door stitch rips

My car has 130k and encountered all the above at some point 😂
