Ok all, I finally got the 96 4.0 into my 94 and now I got some problems.
I have exhaust running just past O2 sensors for the moment (No backpressure) as I haven't got to the install yet. Here are my symptoms:
Loud Popping (backfire/misfire) on left bank
Blue smoke from right bank
Blue smoke out oil fill pipe
Absolutely NO power to climb a hill.

Ran KOEO test: 111 (PASS)
CM Codes: 172 and 332 (EGR FLOW)
Ran KOER test:412, 116, 136, 411, 538

I am going to replace the modulator valve this weekend.

Any ideas... I'm thinking maybe since this motor sat for a year out of a vehicle that maybe a stuck injector or stuck valve?

I never did pull the plugs on that motor.. how do they look? the wires seemed to be in fair condition. sea foam the intake to clean it out?

As for the plugs, they were way used up! I just put the new ones in from my old motor.
Gonna pull a compression test on all six probly this weekend. Boy sure will be glad to get this machine back on the road, especially with fuel prices climbing. The Silverado is nice to drive, but gas is it's favorite thing.

update

Just to update in cqase anyone is scanning these, I replaced the modulator valve and vac hose for it. Noticed slight improvement, however still way down on power, and smokin on right bank exhaust.

Cleared CM codes, still getting the KOER codes
