New Rubber

if you want some black/chrome bullet rims, check www.jegs.com. The black ones are like $55 a piece.

ha!

Sweet lookin Ex!
You just turned me on to the westin bullbar...
I think I'll go with the Black one like Donners though.

Ben

Thanks man. Next thing on my list is some wheels, probably some pro comp xtreme alloy black/chrome ones.

I was thinking how much cleaner ghurst10's looks :p: Do you have a link for those wheels?

Since you already have tires... and are likely keeping the same rim size... perhaps painting the stock rims would be a cost-effective choice.

Either way... the new rubber looks GREAT!

great looking tires !!!

somehow i just like the short "bulldog" nose of the 02-05....the custom grill makes the nose even look better.. (that upgrade is on my wish list:D)

Thanks a lot. And for the billet grill, be sure you check on ebay. That's where i got mine and it was only about $50, a lot cheaper than anywhere else i looked.

thanks for the headsup;) ; only ~$50 sounds good to me:D

I bought a polished aluminum billet grille on ebay for $40 for my last 2nd gen. I was looking last week at possibly buying one for my present 2nd gen and I noticed some stainless steel ones. The polished aluminum combo (both upper and lower inserts) runs $93 shipped for a 2nd gen whereas the stainless combo runs $130 shipped. Anyone have experience with the stainless ones? I remember the aluminum to bend really easily.

Checked out the dakota's today at pep boys just to see them in person and they look pretty sweet i must say...

i think my mounty is slowly getting close to your ex bc my bull bar comes in tomorrow and it's looking like i'm getting the tires in 3-4 weeks..

how much lift do you have spring wise front/rear bc i really like the stance yours has and i'm hoping to get mine around the same height

Mine has 2.5" springs in front and 1.5" springs in back. Thanks for all the comments and good luck with you're mounty. :D

hows the road noise, handling? Are you running spacers?
Truck looks nice.

Thanks a lot. The road noise isn't too bad, but i've never driven on any other mud tires so I don't have much to compare them to. The handling doesn't seem to have been affected much either, except in heavy rain. I'm running 1.5 inch wheel spacers.

Lift specs?

Hey ghurst10, Your X looks good aside from the tires, what lift did you use? The spacers or springs? Body lift? Do the tires rub?
Looks good

hey whats up dude ... im 100% new to moddin my truck for off road... i used to want to do the whole street truck thing until i went off roading for the first time and it was amazing ... but i have practically the same truck and your truck looks sickkkkk.... is there anyway to just do a suspension lift instead of a body lift ?? im tryin to do a very mild off road set up and im havin trouble gettin started

Simply BAD ASS !!!!!!!

I have those same tires except in 265 and love them, not near as much noise as other mud tires and the only downfall i see to them is they like to stick in groovers in the road and pull me around. Good in the mud so far though.

So what does a 285/75/16 equate to in inches? I run the same tire in a 31/10.5/15. It is a really good alternative to some of the more pricey m/t's you could spend money on, espcially if you get them during the buy three get the fourth free deal. Thats when I got mine. Paid $470 out the door and got $100 dollars back in the mail 6 weeks later. Imho they do just as well in mud/snow/rocks. :D

I would look at (dead link)

So a 285/75 is roughly a 32" or a 33" in metric size?
