new shocks or not ??

I just got back from Midas to have my suspension checked out (it was free ) After the guy took it to a test drive and came back, he explained to me that there was nothing wrong with my X and the suspension. When I told him that I was thinking about getting Monroe Reflex shocks to get rid of nose dive and other annoying things that are caused by the stock shocks, he practically recommended not to do it because new shocks wouldnt fix that problem. Right now, I have really bad nose dive and the whole body is very shaky in turns and on uneven pavement.

Is he BSing me or is he right? Any info is greatly appreciated...

ohmygawd! they didn't try to sell you whatever brand of shocks they carry? sounds like that mechanic flunked sales and marketing.

the factory shocks don't seem to be very good... why? probably because most people expect things to bounce like a pogo stick and think something is wrong if it doesn't... this includes many mechanics.

i used to sell mountian bikes part-time and we had to set the suspensions on the floor models to "plush" because people expected them to be that way.... they are "unconciously unaware", which means don't know what they don't know.

new, quality shocks should get rid of the dive and body roll. i can't wait to get new shocks under my ranger.
