I'm replacing my Audiophile system on my '02 Mountaineer. I got the Kenwood Excelon XC590 head unit with the sirius adapter and the steering wheel controls adapter. Any ideas on where to run the wires for the satellite antenna? I'm also replacing the speakers with Kenwood 5 1/4's. I don't know what to do about the factory sub. I want to replace it, but I need to minimize cost. Will I have to replace the factory amp as well? I'm trying to do this on the cheap and I am brand new to the world of car audio. I appreciate any help.

i would also like to know wheres a good spot for the sirius antenna hehehe. i get a lot of loss of signal with it sitting on the dash. Free bump!

I used to have a 2001 Grand Cherokee. The Best Buys installers put the antenna on the roof of the car in the back center, just before the rear hatch. They managed to hide the wire so that it was invisble until it came out under the dash. The reception was excellent!

I installed today above the rear hatch. I hid the wire behind the side molding, which pries off with some force. The panels snap back in.

i dont know anything about the factory sub, but in the end, its going to be easier to just pick up a 10 or 12 and put it in a small sealed box, it will sound better than stock, be alot easier to mess with too

only thing is you would have to buy an amp, but a half decent amp can be had for 50-60$ EASY
