New System Sanity Check B-4 I Order...

I'm looking at installing a new system in my '98 XLT 4x4. Here's what it looks like for now:

HU - Alpine CDM-7871 or Nakamichi CD-45Z

EQ - Alpine ERE-6180

Amp - Alpine MRV-F357, 5-channel, 90x4 + 300x1

Speakers - Infinity Kappa 63.3i, 6.5" 3-way, all 4 corners.

Sub - MTX Thunderform (unamplified) 10"


My only 1 1/2 issues are deciding between the Alpine & Nakamichi head units, and if the single 5-ch amp will work well or do I get separate amps for speakers and subs.

This is about the best system I can come up with for $1500. Granted there's better systems, but I don't like the look of a lot of the newer radios with the wild graphics, colors, etc.... If it came with green lights, I'd get the Eclipse head unit, hands down.

Any thoughts....positive or negative?????

looks good. either the alpine or the nakamichi is a great headunit. i dont really like factory replacement subs. for the cost of it, you could get a better sounding sub (or subs) in a regular enclosure (or even a custom enclosure).

The factory replacement subs are only nice b/c they consume very little space... Other than that, I agree a nice regular individual box is much better for a good sounding bass
