new tires on the X..

well, I decided that I needed new tires, the Wrangler RT/S in the 235/75/15's just weren't cutting it in off road conditions(getting stuck in less than 10" of snow)

So went today and at discount tire got some 31"/10.5/15's and replaced them. WOW what a difference in the snow, even the slush that I was plowing through wasn't really slowing them down too much, where I wouldn't have even been able too get off the road, I was able to go miles back up a logging road over the 10-12" of hard slush(low 40 degree temps and raining) that I was driving on.. sure it would on the steeper hills not want too climb but with a little agressive driving would keep on going.

I don't have the winch installed yet(still waiting on the multi-mount) so I didn't do anything too drastic, since I didn't want to end up walking 10 miles to the nearest house..

What brand of tire did you get?

I'm getting ready to trash the stock 235 GY's on my Ex for some 31x10.50's as well. I just can't seem to find a set that I want at an affordable price... (damn 31's are expensive and being Xmas time, the funds are tight!)

Not to get off track here, whats the largest size you can find under a stock suspension X? what if I do a TT and some shackles? I'm thinking of getting some Michelin LTX's I beleive.

Hey guys if you do a tt lift and get a set of shakels you can put 33x10.50 with no rubbing, i have a 97 2 dr sport with BFs.

not yet(for pics) I'm on duty so I'll get the pics tomorrow(friday)..

from what I've read on here the largest you can get without rubbing is the 31x10.5 tires without a tt lift etc..

also, they are BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A ko's..

if you run 31x10.5's on like a 1995 X would you have to change the speedo gear?

to the guy lookin at michelin ltx....look at the michelin XCX-APT...i got 30x9.50s and love them. didnt like the ltx ms very much.

gsx220 i have 31x10.5 and u cant even tell about the speedo change
seems the same to me but if u go up to 33-35s then u need to get it changed i personaly wouldnt even do that anyways
