- 2000 Ford Explorer
Hey everyone. Just bought my dad a 2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.0 SOHC V6. I absolutely love it, its a great vehicle. 257,000kms with a rebuilt transmission, new spark plugs and a new exhaust. All for $850!!!! This is going to be our second Ford, our first was a 2000 Expedition 5.4 V8 that we bought 3 years ago and sold just last year
Now 2 things with the truck
1. Anyone know how to set the clock? Can't figure it out embarrassingly
2. After the truck warms up a bit, and your sitting at a traffic light, very rarely it will have a rough idle for maybe 1 second, and it will go away. Also when you feel that rough idle and step on the gas, it stutters when getting up to speed. If you're on a drive that last maybe half an hour, it will do this idle thing only once or twice. Even with this though, the engine has lots of power and get up and go. After reading all the posts about intake manifold gaskets, im getting a bit scared that it might be that, but those are mostly on cold starts, whereas this truck is perfectly fine when its cold. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, if im in the wrong area of the site, let me know and ill repost it.
