Hey, Long time reader and first time poster. I have a '92 explorer and have decided to take on replacing drivers front fender, bumper, grill, head light assembly, etc from an accident. I have purchased some parts from a salvage yard and have painted them already. Today I pulled all the damaged stuff, not too big of a deal.

My questions are this what do you call the plastic piece that is attached to the grill and the radiator housing (you're looking at it when you open the hood)? Secondly, Is the front of the vehicle where the radiator is attached spot welded on and not removable with out taking the entire front clip off? Also does some one have a pic of the first part that I asked about since mine was shattered?

where the radiator is mounted is the rad saddle, not sure what u mean about the other piece,is it wher you gain acess the the headlamp plugs?

Are you talking about the brackets that stuff bolts to, being spot welded to the core support?

usually if these are bent up from an accident (or various offroading schenanagins) you can just bend them ack into place and they work fine. at least thats what i do. yes i elieve they're spot welded, if you really want to replace one, just cut/torch it off and weld on another.

yes it would be where you could get to the head lights. I saw some one else call it a air dam?

So I found it at a salvage yard. They called it a filler piece, catch all term for a piece of plastic.

lol, yeah sorry for not repling in time, just got home from work, that`s what i thought it might be,glad you found one.
