Hi Everyone,

Been to the forum a few times but now finally joined.

Currently have an 02 Limited but waiting and waiting and waiting for my 2011 Limited to show up at the dealer. It's been sitting in Chicago for a month now.

I look forward to seeing all the great info that this forum provides.

Regards,
Rick

G'day Rick, I bet the anticipation is killing you:)

It bloody well is!!! I was hoping to have it for my vacation in two weeks. looks like that's not going to happen.

Looking at the forum I guess this is the new norm for Ford to make you wait.

Surprised that don't make you pay for the car while you wait since they already made it :)

Hahaha

My new Ex was dealer ordered 12-10-10. I purchased it on 2-16, with a promised delivery week of 2-22. Built 2-21-11 and has been awaiting transport ever since. My window sticker says convoy, but it is sitting waiting for a rail car transport. I cannot understand how others' trucks built after mine are being delivered, while mine still sits there. Also, how can Ford not have any idea when rail cars might be available to complete delivery. As a long-time Ford fan (starting with 87 Bronco, new---even converted hubby to '08 Ex EB), as well as supportive of Ford for not taking a bail out, I am waiting (somewhat) patiently, but really looking forward to getting my new truck

My dealer sent me my truck history today so I got the dealer code and VIN. Mine was built 2/23/11 with an ETA of 3/4/11. My window sticker also said convoy but the dealer keeps saying it's coming by rail.

I think we should have our own convoy and go to Chicago and pick up our cars, it'll probably be the only we will get them before 2012 models come out.

If Ford shipped them by car carrier they would put more Americans to work which then could afford to buy more of their cars. I bet they never thought of that!

welcome rick

welcome to the site

Good news--Ford Customer Relationships called me (after 5 p.m.) today to tell me that my truck is on its way. ETA 4-8. Finally my truck is moving! Hope you others out there waiting get good news about yours soon.

I'm glad to hear that and I wish you the best with your new Ex. Did you call Ford customer svc or email them? How did you contact them? I'll try that and see if I have your luck.

how I made contact

I called the 800 # from the Ford website "contact us" a couple of days in a row. They then referred me to a Ford Cares (I think that is what the dept. was) rep, who vowed to check the status of my truck every day. I actually had a case no. to make it easier for her to check status when I called ('cause I was too anxious to wait until she called). She could not do anything (as far as I could tell), except check status. When the status changed to "in transit" she called me immediately. Very positive experience with Ford. Good luck with yours!

Thanks for the info! You'll have to keep us informed on how you like the new ride once it arrives. The dealer told me two wks ago that it was on the train to Buffalo so I happened to be there and checked the checked the unload yard. Evidently he must have been using drugs that day cause it's still in the "Windy City". They did have a lot of white, silver and dark silver Ex's in the rail yard.
