Hey guys, not sure if I've ever posted on here. Anyway, I just bought an '02 explorer sport, and it needs work here and there, and I'm not sure where I need to begin. The engine runs smooth as silk, but I'll list everything that I would like to fix.
Needs rear shocks at least, check engine light is on but OBD plug isn't accepting the scanner (loose wire or something), some of my gauge lights are out, sunroof looks aftermarket installed and leaks because the latch is broken (currently caulked but needs touched up, I'd prefer to get it fixed and functional), latch on rear seat window missing, window caulked to prevent leaks, rear hatch won't open (maybe the latch cable is disconnected from the handle?), And the rear glass won't open (push button with lock doesn't work), and finally, the gear shifter knob spins freely and comes off when shifting (5 speed manual). I bought the vehicle cheap, and it's essentially a work vehicle. But I would like to make it a semi custom restoration project.
I guess first thing to fix is the rear shocks, since it's making the ride pretty rough. After that, I'm not really sure what direction I need to go in order to fix everything. Probably the OBD plug and check engine light. What would you guys suggest?
