New to the family and I have some questions...

I just bought as of today a new year round daily driver (other car is in the sig.) Its a 1995 XLT, auto with the 4.0. It has 128K miles on it and drives as if it were new. Everything checked out perfect witht he mechanic I took it to (a family friend), what I want to know is with proper maitnance how far can I expect this thing to go? I want it to last a while and I always take car of my vehicles. Its loaded with everything except a sunroof. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Make sure you keep the tranny fluid clean

True Dat with the tranny fluid. A daily driver = about every 12 months with the fluid in the tranny.
Engine oil every 3k miles and you should be good.
My engine has 143K miles and still runs strong. Original tranny too.
Differential and X-fer case about every 2 years for good measure. More often for hard use. Daily driving, yeah about 2-2.5 years.
You should get many many great years out of your explorer as long as it is taken care of. Don't forget the Zerk fittings with grease every time you change your oil.

Those are the little thingies that are on all the steering parts and on the ball joints that you hook a grease gun up to, to squirt grease into things.
