New to the forum and need some help.

I have 2008 explorer 4.0 V6 that is not shifting to 2nd from WOT. Long story short my brother in-law replaced a TPS and didn't do the PCM reset / relearn process that when we noticed the shifting was weird. It will shift at normal accelerations however after the TPS swap we can't even get the rear tires to spin, it feels bogged down.

I have tried another TPS neither one of them are motorcraft brand, done the relearn procedure, checked voltages at the TB and those checked out good traced the wire from the TPS to the PCM to make sure there wasn't any shorts.

I am stuck, no codes, no flashing lights just a weird bog down shift. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to this forum! Was there a check engine light before the TPS was replaced? Why was the TPS replaced? Did you put the old TPS back?

Yes there was P0121. the original OEM part was weathered and cracked the V6 seem to run hot and crack all the wire insulation.
