2004 Explorer XLT
Hello all! I picked up a 2004 Explorer about a month ago. It will be nice to have 4 wheel drive again this winter. After about 20 years of driving mini vans I feel now I've moved on and now drive an SUV. Thanks for welcoming me into the group.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, 4wd is very nice in the winter. That's the whole reason I got my explorer, in the first place:D

Duluth is probably especially bad in the winter, with all those hills. I've been there in the winter, but whenever I have been the roads were all clear and fine.

I drove Chrysler products. 2 Voyagers and a Caravan. Lot's of tranny trouble there. I actually liked them but they give you that soccer mom stigma. Not that there is anything wrong with soccer moms.

I don't like the feel of the lower lumbar support on those vans. It's not comfortable on long trips. A friend of mine just rented a new 2009 for a trip, and he told me that the new ones have the same kind of seats. He didn't like them either. I told him about this, but he said that I'm fussy. Now he agrees with me after driving a few hundred miles.

welcome
