2011 Ford Explorer Limite
Hello everyone I recently purchased a pre owned 2011 Limited after trading in our 2010 Mercedes GL 450. After test driving the ford we fell in love with it and since our lease was up (and wanting a much lower payment) we decided to pick one up. Ours is fully loaded with every possible option I believe and I was blown away how much more technology the explorer has compared to the GL. We've had it for about 2 weeks and I really think we made the right choice. I've been on this forum since the day we got it and getting a lot of ideas from all of your great cars! I decided to plasti dip the grill black (car is white) and I also did the explorer strip on the rear. Next I'm doing the "limited" and "4wd" emblems. One thing I really want is the hood lettering and think I'm going to head to the dealership tomorrow to pick it up. Lol. 22" wheels will come at some point (most likely Vossen). Thank you again to everyone for all of your inspiring posts and I look forward to being a contributor to the forum. I'm going to try and add some before and after pics of the plastidip process but I'm not sure if I can do it from my iPhone.

Welcome. You can't go wrong with blacked out everything on these explorers.

I didn't do the handles. I have the keyless go and am afraid that I'll make a mess of them. Lol. I don't know how I can get behind the handles without taking them off, and taking them off really isn't something I want to take the time to do. I do like the look of them blacked out though.

Decided to do the rear emblems today. Masked the back off much better this time so there would be no over spray.

looks great, I just picked up a white 2013 I can't wait for warmer weather to plasti dip everything!

now I know how it will look

Looks nice. Keep us posted with the new rims

Which Vossen model wheel are you going with?

Still undecided. Either the VVSCV5, VVSCV3, or VVSCV1.

I like the VVSCV1 and 3s

there are some pics of range rovers with them so you can get a general idea

definitely post pics

I think the VVSCV1 wheels would be my 1st choice
