Hello. I am here in the newb forum to say hello.
I recently purchased a 120,000 1997 Merc 5.0 X for only $1500. It is in fantastic shapr with no issues what so ever. I couldn't believe the condition when I went to see it. I was originally looking for a donor vehicle for an 8.8 and a 5.0 for an old ranger I gave my father, but when I drove this thing I just bought it for me
We will turbo the 4 cyl in the ranger now.
So far I have put 255 tires on 17 inch mustang gt 5 spoke wheels on it. Replaced the rear sub with a JL 6W0-4, all of the door speakers with Kenwood components, put a cold Cone filter and MAF adapter plate on it, and cut off the secondary cats, ran 2.5 inch dual into a SS max flow muffler with a single 3 inch out. I just received the camber adjusting bolts and cam washers in the mail and will be doing a 2 inch torsion drop on it soon. The truck rides great, sounds great, and I am very happy with it.
Me. I am a recent medical retiree from the US Army and am finishing my Aviation Technical Engineering Degree to continue work in the Drone/UAV field. I have been building drag mustangs since I was 15 and currently have a 1st gen Lightning ( than is actually being sold today), and my x275 radial car which is a 1991 coupe with a BOSS block 427, powerglide, and 101mm turbo. I have a 342 stroker with vic jr heads and trick flow track heat that I plan on swapping into the X in the future along with a new VB for the 4r70w and fuel system. I also stumbled across a new 4044 transaxle in perfect condition while trudging through the junk yard looking for a new arm rest for the X. So I have the spare transaxle in case the original one goes out. I like all wheel drive and want to keep it. Anyway. Hello. I will be posting video of the exhaust before and after for everyone who is curious. Jonathan
