I Recently sold my last explorer 91 eddie bauer 4x4. It had 289k on her when the headquarters hasket blew for the second time. Figures it was time to go back to the second gen again. In my travels around town I can across a 2001 explorer retired taxi with a newer engine and tranny but bet up and multi colored (taxi). The truck itself has 394k. I was told the engine and tranny had been replaced at 356k Although beat up. Steering is tight and quite, and drives down the street smooth (at least for a SUV) huge improvement over the 91. He was asking 1100. He kept saying wife doesnt like it I need to get rid of it. I offer 500 and he said he would go less then $800 I offered 650 and thats all i would pay. So after talking to his wife I got it. So here starts my project truck. It will need some work so I will definetly be making used of this site and all the experience and knowledge I have gain by checking out these fourms.
