Here's a pic of my 1991 F-250 that I'll be using to tow my X around next year! The body's in decent shape and runs pretty good (gotta replace a o2 sensor). I also got some stuff to replace underneath, like exhaust pipes and stuff. I'm thinking about having a custom exhaust made for me. I have a friend at a local Mida's that is really good at that sort of thing. Man they must use a LOT of salt on the roads in Wisconsin (that's where the trucks from)....

Anyway, here's the pic!

and here's one showing the tailgate art I inherited!:

Hi ryan,
It has the 5.8L (351W) engine in it, connected to a 5 speed Manual tranny with O/D.... 1 ton rear suspension with a 10.25 axle with 3.55 gears. 78K original miles.

I found a f-350 at the boneyard that has dualie's on it and I'm very tempted to put them on my truck! Has the fiberglass fenders as well that are in fair shape. the 350 has the SAME rear end as mine does. I have to go back up to the boneyard and see what axle gears it has, tho.

The only annoying thing about the truck is it has a one-piece seat cover, which means every time you tilt the back rest forward to get to something behind it the seat belts disappear and you have to go digging for them! I'm gonna grab a bench seat out of a wrecked truck as soon as I can find a decent one.

Trailer queen:D

Jim, why not grab a pair of buckets and a console out of a junked Ex here on the board and ride in style.
Oh yeah and for a trailer get a 5th wheel so you can pull my truck too!!! think of how much more fun it would be.

Now you don't have any excuse not to come out to Colorado or better yet Moab.

I've been out with the Colorado4x4.org group and I have to say they know all the HARD trails.
I thought we had been on some tuff stuff until this last month.
By next summer I should know some good trails that will REALLY give your truck a workout.

Ryan, Thanks for the kind words!

Dannyboy, ALL my other vehicles have bucket seats and I hate 'em! I'm going to try to find someplace that makes 2 piece seat covers! If nobody does, I'll probably grab a used bench seat out of a boneyard. A 5th wheel just so I can pull YOUR X also? Check your Cheese there, Wisconny boy, I think you got a bad block!!! LOL :)

The way I figure it is if someone I'm wheeling with does major damage they can use the trailer and I'll drive my X....Awfully nice of me,eh?

Perry, yep, now it's up to the work gods giving me their permission to go. My present employer is pulling some major crap with our union contract (merger stuff) so if I'm still with them in March I'll see Ya'll in Phoenix!

Well heck, time to get ready for work. ICK!!!!

I don't know that I have ever seen a two part seat cover. I tried to find one myself at one time for that same reason. :) I think I sold the truck before I could find one. :) If you going to the junk yard you might as well look at all the trucks they have and find one thats somewhat cool while your at it. I would get that other axle! It would make towing a lot more safe from what I have read. Keep you in a straight line a bit better. Do a few mods to that engine to get a bit more power and you should be set! A new cat a flowier muffler, and a better air-intake and that should boost your horsepower a bit more. :)

Err ahhh, ummm I.... I oh yeah, I would pay for at least half of the gas, and munchies on the way to go to Colorado!!!!!!!! OK, maybe I should think about looking into my own trailer since my rig is bigger than yours and I do have plans to go to Colorado next summer. The Ex is just so fun to drive, so comfy, such a boomin system, only thing I want to trailer it for is because I am known to bust stuff on the trails.

Ryan, The axles are exactly the same!

Danny, why don't YOU get the 5th wheel and haul mine?!?

I plan on getting custom exhaust and a K&N FIPK for the truck AFTER Christmas!!!

hmm

ignorant question, but how do you import pictures directly into your post?

Thanks

Green,
when you make a new thread or reply to someone else's message you get the type window that has little boxes above it, B for bold text, I for italic;s etc. There is one there called IMG. Clicking on that tab causes an URL address line to show up. You MUST have the pics you want to insert into your message on a web server someplace. I use my homepage server for this. Just type the URL (web address) of where your pic is and BANG!!!! It shows up!

Hope this helps!

Jim

Yea I live in south eastern wisconsin near milwaukee. They prefer to lay an inch of salt down then let the snow melt on it. Yea we have clean roads but we probably have some of the worse conditions for cars.
