Looking to possibly make a suspension mod to my 05 but I have no idea what will solve this. The problem is the rough side to side motion when entering a driveway or something at an angle, and going over speed bumps at anything other then a crawl feels like the front wheels come off the ground. I think if I ever left paved roads I would get whiplashed. What can I do to soften this up a little?

I've searched the forums but I don't see anything addressing this in particular. I'm not unhappy with the ride in general just these situations.

from the way you describe it bouncing around it sounds like you need new shocks but i dont know why they would already be bad on a brand new car

and an 05 doesnt have shocks, it has struts!

wups. your right i dont know why i was thinking he had a sport, disreguard that other post

The vehicle only has 2K miles on it. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive but it seems a bit harsh driving anything above a snail crawl into driveways and such. Doesn't do well over some speedbumps either. Feels very stiff.

its an explorer...its supposed to be stiff :)

What did you drive a Caddy before the Explorer? Perhaps a hovercraft?

Rough Ride

I would guess that is one of the reasons that Ford may not supply the Explorer in Australia from 2006. It has not been a poplular vehicle here. The ride quality is like a truck ( daaa) and the Shopping Trolley moms have opted to buy the Ford Territoy. The Territory is between a Ford Station Wagon and a Ford Explorer and has a nicer ride.

Not sure if you guys have them??
