Newbie/97XLT/ right rear seat latch has me stumped?

I kinda inherited my daughters XLT and cannot get the right rear seat to fold down. She & I managed to get it down once but can't make it happen again. I loosened all the floor bolts in case it was alignment, no help! It seems to be hanging onto something, but what? Any ideas suggestions appreciated. Gary

Their is a lever on the side of the seat.. You may have to push the seat back to get the seat lever to move for you.

Actually it has 2 levers, one tilts the back and the other one releases the seat to fold fowrward. It appears to be releasing but the seat will not fold forward and lay down. The small one behind the drivers seat works great.
