Hi i have a 1999 explorer, it would appear that there was a "silent recall " with regards to the "cam cassette tensioners". Has anyone heard about this in the UK

Hi and welcome.

The UK Ford dealers don't seem to know much about explorers. They did issue a safety recall about a drivers seat bolt but the cam tensioner was not a recall only a maintenance note. Not all the SOHC engines suffer from the problem. There is another one that deals with the lower intake 'O' rings. But our dealers have never heard of that either. DIY is the way to go over here.
