- 2004 Explorer XLT 2wd
Hello all who care, I am the proud owner of a 2004 Explorer XLT 2wd that has 140k miles on the clock.
Because of the mileage, things are starting to go bad and I am so glad that places like this site exist because I am a huge fan of not getting raped at the mech. shop.
I have a few questions regarding the Explorer and things in general:
1. I am an aircraft mechanic by trade, and we use things called IPB's (Illustrated Parts Breakdowns), they are basically the plane (or car in this case) that is drawn out and every part with part number is shown to you in the correct location and configuration. Does this exist with explorers? I found one for my Volkswagen Passat, but I cant seem to find one for my Explorer.
2. As mentioned above, I am a big fan of saving a buck so I like to buy parts online whenever possible, is there an online parts store that this forum recommends to keep it OEM (or close to it)?
