Newbie looking for advice

I now have a 2000 XLT. What basic mods should be done? What should cost be for these items? Smooth tubes, filters k/n, chip etc.

Welcome to the site. I see you are another fellow Marylander. If you don't mind me asking, what part of Maryland do you live at? I would start with maybe K&N kit and depending on what your truck is going to be used for I would get a chip maybe next or maybe a cat-back exhaust system. Also, alot of us fellow Marylanders are meeting later on in February down at the Greene Turtle in Laurel, MD one night for a meet & greet. Here's the thread if your interested.
