2001 explorer sport
Hello Everyone,

I am a new member that could use some advice. I have a multitude of problems from my 2001 explorer sport. I did not see where I could post to a specific forum so I am posting here. My latest problem is squeaky door creak from the front drivers side. This occurs at slow speeds and turning. Nice and loud, other people in the parking lot started walking faster. I have checked the up and down motion on the ball joints, minimal movement. I checked lower control arms, minimal movement. I checked the top shock mount and found it tight but I turned it 1/4 turn more. Tie rod ends have minimum movement also. Checked front axel for binding, none ,very smooth rotation. Not sure what I missed. I do want add that I am a Ford owner as well as Chevy, Dodge. I love my Explorer but this one has cost me some money. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You may want to have someone bounce the front of the truck up and down so that you can here where the squeak is comming from.

I have isolated the noise to the drivers side. When I leave to go to work there is no noise. When I arrive, an hour later, the squeak surfaces it's ugly sound. It only occurs at slow speeds, under 15mph, over bumps, and turning. I have checked motor mounts, they were ok. My body mounts on the other hand are not. The rear two have disintegrated, parts are still there but crumbling apart. I also want to mention that this thing has road rough, lumber wagon, since I bought it. I replaced rear shocks, no improvemnt. I replaced the leafs to fix my rear end sag issues. The sag was fixed but it stills rides very rough, only feels more solid when it hits. I have aquired a grease needle and will post my results. Thank you all for your input.
