What's up everyone, just got my 02 Eddie Bauer last September after 9 years of owning 2 Mustangs and I've been lurking on this board since then. You guys are just as great as those on the Stangnet boards.

Anyway, I have a question regarding a noice that just won't go away. I did a search but really found nothing on the subject...

Every time I press the pedal at all, I get what sounds like air releasing from somewhere under the dash. It occurs for 1 to 2 seconds after the pedal is pushed, but it repeats EVERY time the pedal is pushed. If you ever turned off your heat and hear almost a bit of a hiss for a second, that's kinda what this sound is like. The other time I hear it is when I turn the car off, the "airy hiss" occurs for about 5 seconds. It sounds as if it's related to the heating core but I'm not sure.

My warranty expired but the dealer did take a look at it when I first got it (sorry but I can't remember exactly what they replaced but sure enough it didn't solve the problem b/c the sound is back).

Any thoughts? Any similar problems?

Thanks in advance!!

Did you ever get rid of the hiss? Mine just started doing exactly what you described. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like a vacuum leak in the climate control system. Check the back of the mode selector switch for a loose or cracked hose. Also check the vacuum reservoir under the dash on passenger side - might be cracked or have a loose hose. Might be a hose came off one of the vacuum motors on the climate control too. You're gonna have to poke around under there to see where the noise is coming from. Good luck.
