Thought I would introduce myself, my name is Andy, and I have owned a 1995 XLT 4wd 4 door for 6 years, and it is getting rather long in the tooth. I do all my own work on this vehicle.

I need some help with ABS, my light is on most of the time. I can turn off the truck, and then restart either rolling or at a stop, and it will usually go away, or return soon after. It is a manual transmission, and I just replaced the front disc pads, and replaced brake fluid.

Any ideas? I have researched this a lot, and some say the rear sensor may be bad, or the hydraulic pump may be bad, but most say have it diagnosed with a computer tester.

Anyone in the Denver area have a code reader for the ABS computer??? If so, could I come by and borrow it for 10 minutes?

Thanks,

Welcome to the site, try cleaning the sensors.

if you have any AutoZone stores out there, they will scan your computer for free.

To determine which sensor or module is malfunctioning you need to scan for the ABS code(s).

Without the code(s), its a crap shoot.

Please note that most home OBD scanners will not scan ABS or Airbag codes.

Good luck ....
