Hello everyone, lifes going alright,
i'm officially th e owner of 2 fords paid for, and 1 05' nissan spec-v sentra 6 spd paying for it..... blah fun daily driver though.....
so here we go a breif overall of me,
my 2 fords are as follows
1 )1985 ford mustang GT lt regatta blue registered on four eyed pride and gt registry . com
2 ) I just got form my father the title to his 93' explorer sport 2 dr, 5 speed rear wheel drive i transferred th e title to me, and sent him th e new mississippi licence plate to minnesota
basically long story short, i've been needing a lil truck / suv to drive / haul stuff so therfoe my dad got his mazda b 2300 he had been wanting (die hard trucks, good on gas) anyways he got that and the explorer has been sitting in th e driveway probly well over a year
its got the v-6 5 speed setup.
the prob is the transmission is stuck in 3rd gear right now at least this is what my dad informed me of he has left it in 3rd in case he needs to move the truck he can get a push running start to get going......
basically i've narrowed it down that that 5 speed tranny is a (mazda) tranny from the early merging of ford/ mazda in the early 90's
it would be nice to replace th e tranny with a new or refurbed on and not have to worry, but i've been told the problem could be a little simple problem like a shift fork, or some kind of bushings in the top of the tranny shift assembly.
any of you gents know much abou tthese 5 speed explorers?

now that i'm a 2 ford owner and an explorer owner....
i've got no plans really for th e truck except a little bit better tow hitch so i can dolley around my 85' mustang.......
any help woul dbe appreciated the cost of fixxing this tranny prob is the cost of wha i pay fo rth e explorer so all the help i can get is needed, thanks

i'm in the military so if i get her going i'll be driving her from her original minnesota home all the way down to south mississippi....
