Hey,
I just bought 6 NGK iridiums for my '01 sport. I put one side in and noticed that it was too much trouble to put the other 3 in because the side they were on is just to crowded, so I decided to leave those 3 to my mechanc. I took it for a drive and it drove terrible. So I came back and removed 2. The 2nd I removed was badly damaged so I was under the impression I had fixed the problem. After all, one piston not firing would cause the engine to freak out. I replaced the 2 Iridiums I had taken out with 2 old platinums. I have 2 questions:
1. My X still shakes badly when going up hills at 45 mph and beyond (I did all this mess tonight, I've only driven it 15 miles since all this) Will having 5 old platinums and one new Iridium cause this kind of problem? What are the possible repurcussions of this?
2. Why do the NGK Iridium IX's come with a .059 gap when the SOHC calls for a .054 gap? The one NGK Iridium I have in my engine is still gapped at .059, could this cause any major problem, like the vibration I feel when going up hills?
Sorry for long thread. Thanks in advance for any help. Sorry if I've confused you
