just found out that my 4 wheel low range is not working. I have used the high plenty of times and it works great, but I just went to pop it in low because I want to do some wheeling tommarow and nothing but a loud thud when changing from high to low. I can hear the relays working and im going to pull off the 4x4 motor and check that rubber bushing that everyone has problems with. Hoping that is the issue if not hope somebody can help and be ready for some questions.

it worked!!! I replaced the rubber bushing on the gear in the 4x4 motor and a few light taps to the siliniod and she popped into low range. But now she does not wanna come out of four wheel high with the push button. oh well looks like i will have to turn the car off to disengage 4 wheel high. Just glad to have the low working and another day I will figure out whats going on with the high. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks

The alignment of the shift motor to the T-case can be touchy. After I did the bushing fix, I could never get it positioned perfectly, and eventually took it off and now shift it by hand.

You might be "out of 4hi" but the light says its still in 4hi because the shift motors signal isn't going all the way back. Did u try checking to see if the driveshaft to the front still spins when you try to disengage it, it might just need that lil tap to get it out.

I replaced the shift motor on my wifes exploder and I had to take it off and cycle the motor by hand once before it worked.
