ok so..a friend of mine got shipped off he is a flight medic and left me his truck..originaly to sell for him due to being told it had 3k$+ in things wrong with it..turned out that everything that he was told comes out to about 200$ and they didnt even know the 4x was an issue
anyway so ive been doing repairs for him so he has something to come home and drive till he replaces it..tho now were talkign lifting it and such so who knows
heres the deal..the 4x aint working..tho i "think" the rear diff is locking when using the selector as it deffinatly handles different on gravel in 2wd vs 4wd but the fronts are NOT grabbing and 4 low does NOT happen
so ive checked the motor all is well..powering it it manualy runs...i hit the wrecker grabed half dozen switches still nothing...was going to swap out the modual but this is where things get weird...every modual i found was the "gem" not this "motorola" 1l54-7h417-ac"..was also going to swap the shift motor incase the contact plate that tells the brain where the motor is sitting was broken or otherwise..but its got a ROUND plug without the "extra" connectors that the square plug units have
the dash 4wd lights do NOT do anything..ever....all grounds are good..all fuses have been tested with meter.....is there a relay somewhere?...what have i overlooked ....and am i looking at the wrong trucks for parts?..everything i find even the otehr 01's had NONE of this style parts..or..atleast that i could find in the dash and kick panel
i need to fix it on the "cheep" atleast for now till he gets settled in and what not and money starts flowin
