Is the crank keyway at 12 o'clock? Is that what you mean by zero?
IIRC that is what the crankshaft holding device does, and if you lock there, at TDC of the#1 cylinder on the compression stroke, the locking notches on both camshafts should be parallel to the cylinder head and below the center axis of the camshafts.
If not, something slipped, you need to re time the engine after replacing those couple of valves that are bent.
