Please help, I have an Explorer 4.0ltr SOHC 129000 miles
Previously the transmission light came on, but when driving it to the transmission specialist the light went off. The trans. specialist drove the car, found no codes and commented on its performance. Some two weeks later the light again comes on. Stopped at home. Next day no light! On driving it again to the trans.guy, the transmission disengaged itself. On switching the ignition off, the transmissions ok! Driving it home it was noticable that the transmission had started to slip. On arrival the transmission had again become disengaged. Switching off the ignition and then on resets the transmission.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
