No Drive Or Reverse! HELP!

So the other day I was coming home from work and I caught a red light so i stopped. When the light finally turned green I tried to accelerate but my 03 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT wouldn't go and the OD Off light started blinking. I did some really fast thinking put it in 1 and it started going then i put it back in D and it was driving, but the gear were getting thrown in rough. Well I caught another red light and same thing happened again. I got home and tried parking it in my usual parking spot so I could check it out so i put it in reverse and same thing it just moved a little but it would rev up like if it was in Neutral. Well i put my OBD II reader on it and i got a P0720 code and it was a speed sensor and I went to autozone bought the part and changed it and i also changed my Tranny fluid and filter and still same thing, nothing changed. Please help

Had same sort of sort of problem, towed, paid a transmission shop to rebuild, worked.

Guess the lack of replies is probably that so many have had the issue and a search would probably yield the same result.
