Picked up a 97 mountaineer, and the owner had removed the front driveshaft for fuel economy reasons, which is fine; except, the e-brake doesnt work and I rolled down my friends driveway and the only thing that saved the truck from rolling into a ditch was a nice shrub.

So, what would be the first thing to check/diagnose? I've never had an e-brake problem before.

Also,

I only have to fan speeds, min and max. Is the blower bad?

Whenever the climate control is on anything except Max A/C, the heat seems to engage regardless of the actual temp on the temp dial.

My front windshield washers dont work; i push the button and nothing happens, the wipers dont even wipe. Is this a fuse thing or is the multiswitch shot?

Mach audio system cd changer won't play ANY CD's or CD-R's.

The 2 power outlets dont work, which fuses should i check/replace?

Thx you guys are the best!!

Check to see if any of the e-brake parts are still in there. Your going to have to pull the rear rotors off and check it out.
But pulling off the front driveshaft will not have any effect on gas mileage. Everything is still there and turning so there are no gains.

Next, if you have the standard HVAC system (not the EATC) it sounds like it is the "blower motor resistor"... its the piece that you plug the wires into to get power to the blower motor under the hood.

Sounds like the multi-function switch, If memory serves me, I recall seeing a thread about rebuilding it??? Might be worth a search for that.

Beyond those, I have no suggestions about the audio system
