On my 95 Limited with EATC, I have totally lost oall use of the fan that moves heated/cooled air into the passenger cabin. This really sucks when I need to defrost the windshield.

I know that the fan is still operational because I used a jumper to power directly from the battery and the fan worked. Also, I swapped out the dashboard control but there was no improvement. My question is how can I test the control pack or the relay in order to determine if they are the cause for the problem?

Im sure you could test for power in and out of the fan speed control next to the blower motor, that is what normally goes wrong with them.

I just replaced my fan speed control for $109 for a Wells branded electrical part, sadly my blower motor while strong and quiet is bad because after I replaced the speed control it still didnt work so I smacked the blower and it came alive. Has been intermittent operation since the problem developed. Bought blower motor today, $52. My speed control was flaking apart anyway and with 230k on it I expect to start replacing some things. I could hear a relay click on when I rolled the fan switch to max, sounded like the relay was in the power dist. box by the master cylinder.

on my 96 with eatc had problem with my fan it was the relay located in box under air filter box sitting on the frame cleaned the base realy good with contact cleaner and replace the relay fixed the problem

Thanks for the tip. This is definitely worth trying and I will do so as soon as I can and will report the results ASAP. Thank you, MRITZ.

Windsors03cobra, I am making note of your suggestion and am going to look at that soon as I can afford to.:salute:

The speed control resistors are on the negative side of the blower motor.

If you jumped positive to the blower and it works, I would suspect the relay or wiring as has been said.
