Fuse under hood is good on my 1998 Mountaineer and on my 2002 Sport Trac but no power at the jack on the side of the console.

How do I fix this, and make it so it won't quit again?

If there's not a fuse out (I suspect that there is) then it must be wiring related.

Often when the fuse blows it's caused by whatever you were trying to plug into it shorting out the socket.

The sockets used to work. The fuses blew but after replacing them the sockets still do not work.

*bump*

Someone must know what other than the fuse under the hood blows for the aux socket and where it is so it can be fixed. If it's a fusible link buried somewhere I'll replace it with normal wire - but I'd like to know where it is!

Maybe the fuse didn't blow quickly enough and the socket is burned out.

Because I hate pulling apart consoles and dashboards I would buy an accessory socket and run new heavy duty wiring to the fuse box.
