It started out with the delayed shifting issue when it became cold outside. Graduated to slow shifting into reverse and forward gears (had to wait a few seconds before it would shift into reverse or drive) and only first gear worked with occasional shifts into second and third after very high rpm's. I replaced the modulator = no change. It sat for a couple of weeks and then it would not shift into reverse at all. When I started the engine the vehicle jumped forward a bit (while in park). After shifting into reverse it felt like trying to back up with the e-brake on (would not move at all). I replaced the governor assembly (with the 35mm weight)= no change. I drained the tranny fluid (which I have done regularly) and dropped the pan to replace the filter. There was a good amount of metal shavings attached to the magnet and the filter was black. I replaced the filter and put in new fluid. Still no reverse (still feels like trying to back up with the e-brake on), it still jumps when starting the engine, it drives in neutral (but with the engine off- neutral is neutral) , AND NOW it drives and shifts smoothly in forward gears (except for maybe fouth gear as I only test drove it to 45 mph). Still no reverse! Any answers would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Welcome to this forum! Remove the square plate that holds the low/reverse servo, and see if the end is chipped. Test the band with a long screwdriver to see if it has bounce. The servo seals could be replaced with the TransTec Viton D ring kit.

is the low/rev servo the one toward the front or rear? and where exactly should I look for chipping? thanks
