no second gear 4R55E

I get a codeP0756 and when starting out first is fine, then trans tries to shift into second but revs high and goes into third.
dropped pan fluid ok shift sols look oh, wires, etc. seems like the bands are pretty loose, anyone have the torque specs on them, and can a bad band cause the code to pop up? Thanks

Welcome to this forum! Check my thread on band adjustment: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158160. Did you see any broken band material in the pan? Did you check the resistance of the shift solenoids while the pan was off?

Thanks for the thread. I know the bands need adjusted and I will check the sol's resistance after church today. I'll get back to you.

OK.. went to adjust the intermediate band... ran the screw all the way in almost.....snap... band is trash. I have the lift, equipment and know-how.. I ordered a rebuild kit and new bands... will be in by Tuesday. I yank and rebuild test all the solenoids and replace the internal harness due to 120,000 miles... This is my son's car.. besides his 01 Mustang GT. I'll get back... if anyone want's pics of the rebuild steps, let me know..

Start with the tear down procedure, and then show how it's reassembled. The valve body could go into a separate thread.

I don't have an ASTG manual on the 5R tranny, but I was under the impression the valve body from the 4R and 5R were the same. I have never compared them side by side....correct me if I'm wrong.

The specifications on the 4R are a little different. The EPC has a green screen, and the 5R has a red screen. The newer solenoids use inductive signature for the PCM. The shift solenoids are the same. It's possible that there might be other things which are different.
